Primarily known for its grocery delivery services, Instacart has been steadily investing in enhancing its retail technology provision. Its commerce platform, Storefront Pro, supports over 380 grocery brands, including notable names like Aldi, Costco, Publix, and Sprouts. Additionally, the company’s Carrot Ads platform aids over 310 retailers in establishing and expanding their online and in-store advertising capabilities.
With delivery services primarily limited to North America, acquiring Instaleap is a strategic step for Instacart to extend its reach into international markets without the immediate necessity of building a delivery network in those regions. Instaleap is set to act as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Instacart initially, with plans to introduce more of Instacart’s enterprise technologies to its partners over time.
