Introducing Gigs: The Concert-Tracking App Revolutionising Live Music Memories
Concert-goers often capture special moments on their phones but rarely revisit those recordings. The newly launched iOS app, Gigs, aims to change this by enabling music fans to create a comprehensive personal archive of their concert experiences using Apple’s on-device AI.
Users can easily add concerts to Gigs by importing tickets, emails, screenshots, or website links. The app harnesses Apple’s Foundation Models to automatically extract details such as concert dates, venues, line-ups, and more to populate their event listings.
For those already tracking their concert history with platforms like Setlist.fm or Concert Archives, Gigs offers a seamless option to import past attendance by linking to their existing accounts.
Once concerts are logged in the app, users can sync event dates to their personal calendars, receive ticket sale notifications, explore potential set lists, and view additional artist information. After attending a concert, the app prompts users to rate the event and upload their photos and videos.
Developed by indie creator Hidde van der Ploeg, Gigs originates from his desire to enhance the experience for live music enthusiasts and assist them in recalling their event history. Hidde has a background in AI development, having previously worked on projects like Petey, an Apple Music playlist creator, and NowPlaying, a music discovery app.
Gigs not only stores concert memories but also offers analytics features, allowing users to track statistics on their concert attendance, such as favourite artists, preferred venues, cities visited, and overall ratings. Milestones will be celebrated along the way, enhancing the user’s journey through their concert-going experiences — whether they’ve attended their first ten shows or surpassed a thousand.
The app offers a visually stunning interface designed for iOS 26, featuring a Liquid Glass aesthetic and Home Screen widgets to countdown to upcoming events. Siri integration allows users to easily check forthcoming shows, access tickets, or rate concerts through voice commands. All event listings are indexed by Apple’s Spotlight for effortless searching.
Gigs is available for free, with optional in-app purchases of $2.99/month for added features, including data export, achievements, advanced insights, unlimited photo and video storage, and concert history imports from other services or CSV files. Alternatively, a yearly subscription priced at $19.99 is also available, with discounts for bundling Gigs with NowPlaying.
By organising concert memories effectively, Gigs empowers users to revisit their favourite shows while gaining valuable insights into their concert history, reshaping the way fans engage with live music experiences.
