Amazon Music Teams Up with Bandsintown for Concert Listings Collaboration

by admin

Amazon Music has announced its collaboration with Bandsintown, a platform for live event listings, aiming to enhance the concert experience through its music streaming service. This partnership will allow users to access concert information directly from artists’ profile pages on Amazon Music. By integrating Bandsintown for Artists, listeners can now easily purchase tickets for live events via “buy ticket” buttons found on artist pages. For this feature to work, artists must first link their Amazon Music profiles to Bandsintown.

In addition to listed shows from individual artists, Amazon Music will automatically feature events from venues, festivals, and promoters that utilise Bandsintown Pro—its promotional tool for events. This integration underscores Amazon Music’s commitment to connecting fans with their favourite artists, as expressed by Karolina Joynathsing, Director of Business Development at Amazon Music. She highlighted the importance of live music in fostering connections, noting how the platform has previously embraced livestreams to engage audiences. With this new feature, fans can explore upcoming performances while also enjoying streaming music, live events, and purchasing merchandise within a single app.

The rollout of this feature is currently underway, with full availability expected this spring across both iOS and Android devices. Bandsintown boasts an impressive roster of over 700,000 artists and 65,000 venues and festivals utilising its services, attracting more than 100 million users, although the active user count remains unspecified.

This latest initiative follows a prior collaboration between Bandsintown and Amazon Music earlier in 2023, which allowed artists to sell merchandise through the platform. Notably, Amazon Music’s late entry into the concert discovery space contrasts with competitors like Spotify and Apple Music, who have established similar functionalities over recent years, forming partnerships with Ticketmaster and Bandsintown to facilitate live event features. SoundCloud also teamed up with Ticketmaster last year to enable artists to list their events. Overall, Amazon’s new integration represents a significant step in its journey to compete in the increasingly crowded music streaming landscape.
