World Collaborates with Tinder and Visa to Expand Its ID Verification Technology Reach

by admin

World, a biometric identification firm renowned for its eyeball-scanning Orb devices, has unveiled several new partnerships aimed at enhancing user sign-ups and showcasing the versatility of its technology. During an event held late Wednesday, the company announced a collaboration with Match Group to authenticate Tinder users’ identities in Japan. Additionally, through alliances with Kalshi and the decentralized lending platform Morpho, users can log in using their World-registered IDs. A notable collaboration with Visa aims to introduce The World Card, a payment solution enabling users to spend their digital assets anywhere Visa is accepted.

Founded in 2019 by Tools for Humanity, based in San Francisco and Berlin, World has secured significant venture capital investment over the years and has issued digital IDs for millions. Nevertheless, the company has struggled to gain mainstream acceptance, largely due to its complex ID verification process.

With these recent partnerships, World is strategically targeting a wider demographic, including individuals who may have previously hesitated to undergo the eyeball scanning process for identity validation. The highlight of this initiative is The World Card, which is set to launch in the United States later this year. This card will link to World’s World App, allowing users to conduct transactions using cryptocurrencies. It is designed to seamlessly convert crypto to fiat currency when necessary, and could provide rewards for specific AI services or subscriptions.

These developments depict World’s ambitions to simplify identity verification and expand its user base, bringing biometric technology to a broader audience.
