World Collaborates with Tinder and Visa to Expand Its ID Verification Technology Globally

by admin

World, a biometric identification firm renowned for its innovative eye-scanning Orb devices, recently unveiled several strategic partnerships at a Wednesday event, aimed at enhancing user sign-ups and showcasing its technology’s capabilities.

A notable collaboration is with Match Group, which will validate the identities of Tinder users in Japan. Additionally, World is partnering with Kalshi and Morpho, a decentralised lending platform, allowing customers to log in using World-registered IDs. Furthermore, World announced plans to collaborate with Visa to launch The World Card, enabling users to utilise digital assets wherever Visa is accepted.

Founded in 2019 by Tools for Humanity, based in San Francisco and Berlin, World has successfully secured hundreds of millions in venture capital while providing digital IDs to millions of individuals. However, its adoption in mainstream markets has been limited due to the cumbersome processes involved in ID verification.

Through these new partnerships, World aims to attract a wider audience, particularly those who may have previously hesitated to use biometric identification methods like eye scans. The highlight of these initiatives is the upcoming World Card, expected to launch in the U.S. later this year. This card will integrate with World’s app, allowing users to transact using cryptocurrencies. It will automatically convert digital currencies to fiat when necessary and may even offer incentives for specific AI services and subscriptions.

Overall, these collaborations position World to expand its reach, making biometric identification more accessible while leveraging emerging financial technologies to enhance the user experience.
