WhatsApp Introduces AI-Powered Response Drafting Based on Your Chats

by admin

WhatsApp is introducing a range of exciting new features and updates aimed at enhancing user experience. One of the standout updates includes an AI-powered suggested reply feature that generates responses based on your ongoing conversations. This enhancement is part of a broader effort by the Meta-owned platform to streamline messaging and provide users with tools to improve their communications.

In addition to the suggested replies, WhatsApp is updating its “Writing Help” feature, originally launched last August. This tool assists users in drafting messages by rephrasing, proofreading, and adjusting the tone to match their intention. With the latest update, WhatsApp aims to help users perfect their messages, allowing for a more polished communication experience.

Meta appears to be promoting the use of its in-app tools for drafting messages, potentially encouraging users to rely on WhatsApp’s own features rather than external applications like ChatGPT. However, there’s an acknowledgment that many users may prefer maintaining a personal touch in their conversations with friends and family, as the use of AI-generated text might seem less authentic in more intimate settings.

Privacy remains a priority for WhatsApp, which assures users that their chats will remain confidential even with the use of the Writing Help feature. To access this functionality, users simply need to tap the chat bar, select the sticker icon in the typing area, and click the pencil with sparkles icon to utilise the AI tools.

WhatsApp is also rolling out a new method for managing storage space, allowing users to identify and delete large files directly from any chat without losing entire conversations. This feature provides greater control, enabling users to selectively remove unwanted media while preserving chat history.

Additionally, users can leverage Meta AI to enhance photos directly within chats, offering functionalities such as background changes and object removal, which adds a creative element to their messaging experience.

Other updates include the ability to transfer chat histories between iOS and Android devices, alongside support for maintaining two WhatsApp accounts simultaneously on iOS, a capability already available on Android. Moreover, the sticker functionality has been enhanced, allowing WhatsApp to suggest relevant stickers based on the emojis users type, enhancing the way expressions are communicated.

These innovative features are currently being rolled out and are expected to be accessible to all users in the near future.
