UK Competition Authority Determines Microsoft-OpenAI Partnership Is Not Subject to Investigation

On Wednesday, Britain’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced that Microsoft’s collaboration with OpenAI does not warrant an investigation under the merger regulations established by the U.K.’s Enterprise Act 2002, which governs anticompetitive practices in the country. Read more.

In December 2023, the CMA initiated its investigation into the partnership between Microsoft and OpenAI.
