Uber Users Can Now Accumulate Delta SkyMiles Through Rides and Deliveries

by admin

Delta SkyMiles members in the United States are now able to earn points through an exclusive partnership with Uber, which includes both ride-hailing and Uber Eats delivery services. This collaboration aims to strengthen Uber’s connection with airport travel, a significant market for the company.

In addition to this partnership, Uber has announced the expansion of its cost-effective Airport Shuttle service to Atlanta, following successful launches in New York City. This development comes amidst a backdrop of market uncertainty and lower consumer confidence impacting travel spending in the U.S.

As travel budgets tighten, customers are looking for ways to maximise their spending. Uber users who signed up for the waitlist can link their Delta SkyMiles accounts starting Tuesday, while others can do so from Thursday onwards. There are multiple ways for users to accumulate miles after linking their accounts:

  • Uber Eats: Earn 1 mile for every dollar spent on orders over $40.
  • Airport Rides: Gain 1 mile per dollar for UberX rides to and from the airport.
  • Premium Rides: Accumulate 2 miles for each dollar spent on Uber Comfort or Uber Black rides.
  • Uber Reserve: Earn 3 miles per dollar for rides booked in advance.

It’s important to note that while riders cannot combine miles from reserving an airport ride, they will receive SkyMiles based on the ride that offers the greater reward.

Additionally, the two companies are enhancing their integration. Customers who purchase flights through the Fly Delta app can easily add an Uber Reserve booking for airport transportation. Later this year, SkyMiles members will also be able to access a 30% discount on Uber rides booked through an offer sent while connected to Wi-Fi during their flights.

This initiative is designed to provide added value to Delta travelers while solidifying Uber’s foothold in the airport transport sector, especially during a time of economic caution among consumers.
