Twitter Vanishes from the Mac App Store

by admin

X, previously known as Twitter, has vanished from the Mac App Store, indicating it has been removed.

Attempts to find the app under both “Twitter” and “X” on Apple’s marketplace yield no results. The link to its store page leads nowhere, displaying a message that the app is not available. Consequently, newcomers to the platform are forced to use the web-based version, as the application is no longer available for download.

Users who have the application already installed have indicated it remains operational for them. However, some reports suggest that running the iPad iteration on MacOS might lead to complications.

There has been no official comment from X on the timeframe of the app’s delisting, nor has there been a response to inquiries from TechCrunch.

This occurrence may signal the discontinuation of the company’s Mac application, which has been a subject of criticism for its glitches. Following the rebranding of Twitter as X by Elon Musk in 2023, the change was applied across all platforms with the exception of the Mac app, which hasn’t been updated for approximately a year.

It remains to be seen if X intends to entirely phase out the Mac app’s functionality. Updates will be provided as more details emerge.
