TechCrunch is teaming up with VivaTech, Europe’s largest tech and startup initiative, to honour the most innovative startups at the forthcoming VivaTech 2025. This collaboration aims to spotlight remarkable creativity and technological advancements amongst participating startups.
The VivaTech Innovation of the Year Award aims to recognise and celebrate startups exhibiting outstanding innovation and transformative technological capabilities, with the potential to revolutionise their sectors. TechCrunch will curate a shortlist of 30 standout companies, appointing a juror to determine the final five candidates. These finalists will present their innovations live at VivaTech on June 11, with TechCrunch also taking on the role of Master of Ceremony for the VivaTech Global Awards Ceremony, where winners will be announced on June 12.
Finalists will benefit significantly from this exposure, which includes a chance to pitch on the VivaTech stage and network with venture capitalists, along with increased visibility across VivaTech’s marketing platforms. Each selected finalist will also receive valuable passes to attend the event.
The winner of the Innovation of the Year award will gain entry into the highly sought-after Disrupt Startup Battlefield 200, allowing them to showcase their venture at TechCrunch’s flagship event in San Francisco in October 2025.
Eligibility criteria for the award include being an exhibiting startup at VivaTech 2025, having been founded in or after 2020, and employing fewer than 50 staff members. The process requires submissions for the five finalists to be decided by June 4, followed by a pitch session and the award ceremony.
VivaTech is renowned for fostering innovation by connecting startups, tech leaders, major corporations, and investors in efforts to tackle major global challenges. Spanning over four dynamic days, this event in Paris, where technology meets creativity, will feature groundbreaking demonstrations, industry launches, and insightful conferences.
