Spotify has recently announced the expansion of its AI Playlist feature, now available in over 40 new markets globally, spanning regions such as Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. Launched in beta for both Android and iOS platforms, this innovative tool allows users to generate customised playlists using unique prompts. For example, a user might request “workout music to make my ex jealous,” prompting the AI to curate a selection of songs that fit that particular mood.
The prompts users can provide are diverse and creative, encompassing various genres, decades, colours, animals, emojis, and even fictional characters. This flexibility in user input is designed to enhance the listening experience by tailoring playlists to specific themes or vibes.
Initially introduced in April 2024 for Premium subscribers in the U.K. and Australia, the feature was subsequently made available to users in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand just a few months later. With this latest rollout, Spotify has significantly increased the reach of the AI Playlist feature, now offering it in nearly 50 markets worldwide. Among the newly added nations are Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Fiji, Ghana, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
This move underscores Spotify’s commitment to enriching user engagement through innovative technology, ensuring that more listeners around the world can enjoy personalised musical experiences.
