Samsung Unpacked: Google Enhances Circle for Improved Search Functionality

by admin

During Wednesday’s Samsung Unpacked 2025 event, Google revealed enhancements to its Circle to Search feature, aimed at simplifying how users access information and complete tasks. Introduced last year, this function allows individuals to perform searches from anywhere on their mobile device using intuitive gestures such as circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping.

Google is now broadening the scope of AI Overviews to include a greater variety of visual content, including locations, trending images, and distinct objects within Circle to Search. Previously launched for multimedia queries involving both images and text, this upgrade means users will start receiving AI Overviews even without the need for supplemental text or questions in their searches.

For example, if you find a captivating artwork in a museum, simply circling it can prompt an AI-generated recap with informative details about the piece, along with links for further online exploration.

This new capability is being rolled out across all Android devices that support AI Overviews.

Additionally, Google is streamlining the process for users to accomplish tasks on their devices, as Circle to Search will now identify phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs displayed on the screen. By pressing the home button and circling or tapping a contact number, email, or link, users will receive a prompt to interact with the highlighted information.

The rollout of this feature is set to reach all Android devices that utilize Circle to Search.
