On Wednesday, Samsung unveiled the newest members of its Galaxy S flagship smartphone series during the annual Samsung Unpacked event for 2025. As anticipated, the primary focus of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra revolves around mobile AI, a trend that aligns the tech giant with broader industry developments.
Leading the lineup is the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Priced at $1,300, this successor to the Galaxy Note maintains the same pricing structure as its predecessor. The device features a 6.9-inch display along with a sophisticated camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 200-megapixel main camera, and two telephoto lenses with 3x and 5x optical zoom capabilities.
The Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, which is also used across all models in the S25 series. Samsung has customized the chip, adding its unique branding, while the standard version is expected to be featured in many top-tier smartphones launched in the coming year.

Samsung claims a 37% enhancement in CPU performance, alongside a 30% improvement on the GPU front. Notably, the NPU (neural processing unit) receives a significant upgrade with a 40% boost, reflecting the emerging potential of these advanced processors amid the industry’s growing emphasis on artificial intelligence.
Both the S25 Ultra and S25+ utilize ProScaler, an AI-driven “sharpening” feature that necessitates the QHD+ display resolution for optimal performance. For advanced gaming graphics, the Snapdragon chipset introduces on-device Vulkan Engine and Ray Tracing technologies, supported by a vapor chamber that is 40% larger for effective cooling.
Google’s AI capabilities have become increasingly integral to the device’s features. The previous shortcuts for Home and Bixby have been replaced with the new Gemini, accessible via a long press on the side button. Additionally, the Galaxy line benefits from Circle to Search and a host of generative AI-driven writing and drawing tools.
The Ultra model is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, paired with 12GB of RAM and storage options that go up to 1TB. Users can choose from Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Whitesilver, Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, and exclusive colors like pink, gold, and green, available only through direct purchases from Samsung.
All three Galaxy S25 models will be available for preorder starting Wednesday, with the first shipments expected to roll out on February 7.
