Regie.ai Enhances Sales Enablement with AI While Ensuring Human Oversight

by admin

Sales enablement lacks a one-size-fits-all strategy; it’s about equipping sales teams with the necessary tools to secure deals. Some teams struggle with prospecting—finding and reaching out to potential clients—while others need assistance with finalizing transactions.

To address these varying needs, founders Matt Millen and Srinath Sridhar leveraged artificial intelligence. Their venture, Regie.ai, focuses on crafting sales enablement software that merges AI capabilities with human outreach initiatives.

“We came together in 2021 with the goal of establishing a generative AI content platform tailored for sales teams,” Srinath, CEO of Regie.ai, shared with TechCrunch during an interview. “Our mission is to enhance human sales representatives, not replace them.”

Srinath, a former software engineer at Google and Meta, specializes in data science and has built enterprise-level machine learning systems. Matt Millen previously held the position of VP at T-Mobile, steering national sales efforts.

When Regie.ai was first highlighted by TechCrunch in 2022, its offerings were limited, primarily featuring a refined version of OpenAI’s GPT-3 model to produce marketing content. Since then, Regie.ai has significantly broadened its product lineup, transforming it beyond recognition for this writer.

Now, Regie.ai provides tools such as an AI-driven sales sequence builder and “co-pilots” for personalizing messaging and identifying sales prospects. The platform integrates phone, email, and social outreach workflows into a single interface while enriching these processes with automation and AI insights.

“Regie.ai is inherently AI-focused,” Srinath explained, “utilizing AI to tackle essential yet low-impact administrative tasks related to prospecting, such as list creation, sorting intent signals, and composing and distributing emails, thus allowing human representatives to concentrate on valuable follow-up interactions through calls and social platforms.”

Regie.ai can assess indicators such as website visits, engagement levels, and intent data to recommend optimal outreach steps, according to Srinath. When a potential buyer indicates openness to communication, Regie.ai determines whether to assign the next follow-up to AI or a human representative—designating a call, email, or social outreach task accordingly.

Srinath recognizes the intense competition within the sales enablement software market, which was valued at approximately $5.23 billion in 2024. One of its competitors is Amplemarket. However, Srinath believes that Regie.ai distinguishes itself by not removing sales representatives from critical sales processes.

“The sales enablement sector is caught between two extremes,” he noted. “On one side, AI solutions are claiming to fully replace human input, while on the other side, there are outdated software solutions that have stagnated without meaningful innovation. We believe Regie.ai addresses this gap.”

Based in San Francisco, Regie.ai counts Crunchbase and Copado among its clients and appears to be on the right track. Last year, it reported a 300% increase in annual recurring revenue, according to Srinath.

To support its upcoming growth, Regie.ai has recently secured $30 million in a Series B funding round, co-led by Scale Venture Partners and Foundation Capital, with contributions from Khosla Ventures, StepStone Group, Triple Point Capital, and South Park Commons. This brings the total funds raised by the company to $50.8 million, and the new investments are earmarked for expanding Regie.ai’s approximately 75-member team, specifically focusing on enhancing engineering and customer success departments, as stated by Srinath.
