Nine U.S. AI Startups Secure Over $100 Million in Funding in 2025

The previous year marked a significant turning point for the AI sector both in the U.S. and globally.

According to our analysis at TechCrunch, 49 startups secured funding rounds exceeding $100 million in 2024. Notably, three firms obtained multiple “mega-rounds,” and seven companies achieved funding of $1 billion or more.

What does 2025 hold in comparison? While it’s still early in the year, the number of U.S. AI companies that have raised over $100 million is nearly in double digits, with one round already surpassing $1 billion.

Below is a list of U.S. AI companies that have raised more than $100 million thus far this year.

March

  • AI research and large language model firm Anthropic secured $3.5 billion in a Series E funding round, valuing the startup at $61.5 billion. The funding announcement came on March 3, with leadership from Lightspeed and contributions from Salesforce Ventures, Menlo Ventures, General Catalyst, and others.

February

  • Together AI, which specializes in open-source generative AI and infrastructure for AI model development, raised a $305 million in Series B funding, bringing its valuation to $3.3 billion. This round, which took place on February 20, was co-led by Prosperity7 and General Catalyst, with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Nvidia, Lux Capital, and others.
  • AI infrastructure firm Lambda announced a $480 million Series D round on February 19, valuing the startup at nearly $2.5 billion. The funding was co-led by SGW and Andra Capital, with participation from Nvidia, G Squared, ARK Invest, among others.
  • Based in Pittsburgh, Abridge, an AI platform that focuses on transcribing patient-clinician conversations, reached a valuation of $2.75 billion in a Series D funding round announced on February 17. The round raised $250 million and was co-led by IVP and Elad Gil, with support from Lightspeed, Redpoint, Spark Capital, and others.
  • Eudia, a legal tech AI company, secured $105 million in a Series A funding round led by General Catalyst. The round, which closed on February 13, included participation from Floodgate, Defy Ventures, Everywhere Ventures, and other venture capital firms as well as several angel investors.
  • AI hardware startup EnCharge AI finalized a $100 million Series B round on February 13, led by Tiger Global, with additional participation from Scout Ventures, Samsung Ventures, and RTX Ventures. Established in 2022, this Santa Clara-based startup is making waves in the industry.
  • Legal tech AI firm Harvey announced a $300 million Series D funding round on February 12, valuing the three-year-old company at $3 billion. The funding round was led by Sequoia, with contributions from the OpenAI Startup Fund, Kleiner Perkins, Elad Gil, and other investors.

January

  • Synthetic voice startup ElevenLabs completed a $180 million Series C round, resulting in a valuation exceeding $3 billion. The announcement came on January 30, with the funding co-led by ICONIQ Growth and Andreessen Horowitz, alongside participation from Sequoia, NEA, Salesforce Ventures, and more.
  • Hippocratic AI, which focuses on developing large language models tailored for the healthcare sector, announced its $141 million Series B round on January 9, valuing the company at over $1.6 billion. This funding was led by Kleiner Perkins with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia, General Catalyst, and others.
