Under the leadership of Mark Bezos, the younger sibling of Jeff Bezos, alongside private equity expert David Moross, HighPost Capital has initiated a venture capital subdivision named HIPstr, accompanied by new investment funds for startups.
This venture just unveiled its inaugural VC fund of $100 million. HighPost Capital targets investments in consumer-oriented companies, while HIPstr is set to capitalize on the significantly reduced valuations of startups witnessed in recent years, as Bloomberg noted. The fund has commenced investments in several initial-stage companies, notably Wild Common, a spirit brand co-founded by Kylie Jenner, and After.com, a funeral services enterprise that secured a $10 million Series A funding round recently.
