Khloe Kardashian Introduces New Consumer Brand with Support from Serena Ventures and WME

by admin

Khloe Kardashian has officially debuted her new food venture, Khloud, with its inaugural offering—a protein popcorn set to launch at Target on April 29. In December, it was reported that Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, aimed to raise a minimum of $10 million for Khloud. Following efforts to secure funding, they successfully completed an “oversubscribed” $12 million funding round, according to Jessica Bixby from K5 Global, which has invested in the brand.

Khloud’s popcorn is made from whole-grain corn and is enhanced with “Khoud Dust,” a proprietary blend of milk protein and seasonings that provides seven grams of protein per serving. The popcorn will also be available for purchase on the brand’s official website.

In a statement to TechCrunch, Kardashian noted, “We’re starting with popcorn, but that’s just the beginning,” expressing aspirations to expand into various other snack categories. Khloud aims to create healthier snack alternatives using “clean” ingredients, aligning with current consumer trends towards nutritious eating.

This marks a new chapter for the Kardashian-Jenner family, as they venture into the snack industry for the first time. With a well-documented affinity for food, including a dedicated Instagram page showcasing their culinary preferences, the family’s entry into this market seems natural. Their business empire is well-known for its diversity, spanning from beauty products and liquor brands to household cleaning supplies, and now extending to the food sector.

The brand has attracted notable investors, including Serena Ventures, William Morris Endeavor, and Shrug Capital, bolstering its potential for success in a competitive marketplace. Celebrities have increasingly tapped into consumer goods, with many launching their own lines in various sectors, further illustrating the potential for lucrative business ventures based on personal branding and fan engagement.
