Instagram Now Enables Users to Incorporate Several Audio Tracks into Reels

by admin

Instagram has unveiled a new feature that enables users around the globe to enrich their Reels by incorporating several audio tracks.

This update allows for the insertion of up to 20 different audio pieces into a single Reel. Users wanting to add another dimension to their videos can do so by selecting the “Add to mix” function within the Reel editor. Following the addition, these tracks can be trimmed, ensuring only desired segments of audio are included.

“With the introduction of the ability to include multiple audio tracks in Reels, we’re handing creators the reins to take their creative expression to new heights. They now have the tools to perfectly sync audio with visuals such as text, stickers, and video clips, tailoring their content to resonate with their followers in a manner that truly reflects their unique style,” Instagram explained in an announcement.

Instagram will credit the original compilation to the creator, encouraging their followers to share and remix the distinctive audio blend. This functionality eliminates the previous necessity for creators to externally mix audio tracks before integrating them into their Reels.

In a recent disclosure, Instagram’s chief Adam Mosseri revealed the platform’s strategy to focus more on the exchange of short video content rather than on fostering long-form videos.

Mosseri elaborated, via an Instagram Reel, that long-form content tends to detract from the platform’s core mission of connecting users with their friends. He noted, “Engaging with lengthy videos reduces the amount of content seen from friends, diminishes interaction with them, and lessens the likelihood of sharing the content,” adding, “Our goal isn’t to chase long-form video but to ensure connection amongst friends, and we believe short-form video is more conducive to that aim.”
