Google’s Find My Device Rebranded as Find Hub Amid Expansion Efforts

by admin

During the Android Show, just ahead of the Google I/O 2025 event, Google revealed enhancements to its Find My Device feature, which is set to be rebranded as “Find Hub.” This upgrade aims to provide Android users with more effective methods to locate their smartphones and other belongings. In line with this development, the service will collaborate with additional partners, integrate satellite tracking, and establish airline partnerships.

Find My Device was first launched in 2013 as a competitor to Apple’s Find My service. Over the past year, it evolved with the introduction of a crowdsourced network, allowing users to track lost items through third-party Bluetooth devices and tags from brands like Chipolo and Pebblebee.

Now, Google is expanding its partner ecosystem to include brands that offer built-in location tracking capabilities. Notable partners include luggage brands such as July and Mokobara, which will enable users to locate their bags more easily. Moreover, features for tracking lost skis using Peak technology and family-focused Bluetooth tags from Pixbee are on the horizon. Additionally, users will soon have access to ultra-wideband (UWB) technology for more precise locating of Motorola’s moto tags.

Further advancements include the upcoming rollout of satellite-based tracking capabilities later in 2025. Google also announced collaborations with several airlines, enhancing travellers’ ability to monitor lost luggage. New partners include Aer Lingus, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, and Singapore Airlines, broadening the service’s utility for those travelling via air.

In summary, the transformation of Google’s Find My Device into Find Hub marks a significant step in improving location tracking and ensuring users can effectively manage their owned items across various platforms and situations.
