Figma Unveils Innovative AI-Driven Tools for Crafting Websites, App Prototypes, and Marketing Materials

by admin

Figma, a prominent design company, has unveiled several new features aimed at enhancing site and web app creation through AI technology. Key among these is Figma Sites, which allows users to quickly build and publish websites directly within the platform. Traditionally, designers have used Figma to create prototypes; now, they can publish these as functional websites, collaborating in real-time to adjust site elements seamlessly.

Another exciting capability is the integration of a content management system (CMS) that enables users to generate and modify blog posts, manage blog assets, and implement animations and responsive design features intuitively. For interactive elements, users can add custom code or allow AI to generate it for them, for instance, through stock tickers.

In addition to Figma Sites, the tool Figma Make focuses more on ideation and prototyping. Users can input prompts to create web applications collaboratively, and developers can modify underlying code directly, ensuring flexibility.

Figma has also introduced Figma Buzz, a marketing-oriented tool that allows marketers to leverage design templates while generating assets in bulk using data from spreadsheets. This feature simplifies the creation of brand-specific content and allows for the insertion of AI-generated images.

The newly launched Figma Draw feature enhances vector editing capabilities, allowing designers to edit directly within Figma without needing external software. This tool includes options like multi-vector editing, text on a path, and custom patterns.

Figma’s Chief Product Officer, Yuki Yamashita, stated that while both Figma Sites and Make share underlying technologies, they cater to different needs. Figma Sites is geared towards marketing and design teams with clear objectives, while Figma Make assists in high-fidelity prototyping for innovative ideas.

The growing competition in the market, from established platforms such as WordPress and Wix to creative tools like Canva and Adobe, prompted Figma to expand its offerings. Although Chen has noted that Figma does not aim to compete directly with these tools, the company is committed to enhancing digital product development, with a third of its users being developers.

To support these features, Figma is launching a new pricing plan starting at $8 per month, granting users access to Figma Buzz, Figma Draw, Slides, FigJam, and CMS capabilities. With these updates, Figma is poised to further establish itself in both the design and marketing realms, facilitating a stronger integration of design and web development processes.
