Clicks Launches BlackBerry-Style Keyboard Case for Android Devices

by admin

Clicks has announced the launch of its physical keyboard case for Android devices, reminiscent of the BlackBerry era. This new line includes tailored keyboards for popular models such as the Google Pixel, Motorola Razr+, and Samsung Galaxy S25, making it an exciting option for those who prefer a tactile typing experience.

Starting from today, preorders for these keyboard cases are open, with prices initially lower than comparable products for iPhones. Specifically, consumers can reserve a Pixel 9 or 9 Pro case for $99, which will increase to $139 after March 21. Similarly, Razr+ and Galaxy S25 cases are also available at the same introductory price, with the same future price adjustment.

The retro-inspired design has already proven popular, attracting attention for its nostalgic appeal. Since its launch in 2024, Clicks has reportedly sold over 100,000 units of its iPhone keyboard cases globally.

However, the keyboard case has received mixed reviews concerning user experience. Due to the structural differences between modern smartphones and BlackBerry devices, users may find the transition to the new typing method challenging. Adjusting to the added weight of the case and device may create a wobbly typing sensation, making it feel less stable. Acknowledging this, Clicks provides helpful documentation to assist users in mastering the keyboard technique, with some users reporting successful acclimatization.

The Android keyboard cases boast features such as metal dome switches for tactile feedback, backlit keys, keyboard shortcut support, and a luxurious microfibre interior, while charging is facilitated through USB-C, and wireless charging is supported for Pixel models. Additionally, users can enhance their experience with a companion app that saves their preferences.

The Pixel keyboard cases are available in vibrant colours: Surge (bright yellow) and Onyx (black), with expected shipments commencing in late April. The Razr+ cases will be released in Electric (bright blue) and Onyx in late May, while the Galaxy S25 cases will ship in June, featuring colours like Pinot (red) and Onyx.

In conclusion, Clicks aims to rekindle keyboard nostalgia for Android users with this innovative product, catering to those seeking a physical typing experience, although potential users should be prepared for an adjustment period.
