The forthcoming Apple Mac mini is set to abandon the USB-A port, as per a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Long-time Apple users might have noticed the shift from the classic, broad USB-A ports to the sleeker USB-C type. Despite the benefits of USB-C, this change often leaves consumers in a bind, needing additional adaptors.
According to Gurman, the Mac mini has not seen a major redesign since 2010, but that’s about to change this autumn. The revamped versions are expected to come with the new M4 chip from Apple, boasting five USB-C ports, alongside an Ethernet port, an HDMI output, and a headphone jack, eliminating the traditional USB-A ports.
Apple is gearing up for its “Glowtime” media event on September 9, which is anticipated to unveil the iPhone 16. It appears that the updated Mac lineup will be revealed later in the season.
