Fireflies.ai, an AI-driven note-taking application supported by Khosla Ventures, has unveiled a suite of specialised “mini apps” aimed at automating the extraction of insights from meeting transcripts. This innovation comes at a time when various meeting intelligence platforms, including Otter, Read AI, and Krisp, have witnessed significant growth, with Fireflies reporting an eightfold increase in its user base and achieving profitability, as stated by co-founder and CEO Krish Ramineni.
To further enhance its growth trajectory, Fireflies.ai is launching over 200 mini apps tailored for diverse professional functions such as sales, marketing, recruitment, operations, customer support, and management. Notable examples include the BANT Sales App, which helps sales teams gather key details like budgets and timelines, and the Agent Performance Feedback Generator, designed to provide coaching insights for customer service agents. Additionally, the Product Launch Planning App facilitates the creation of effective product launch strategies.
Unlike traditional tools that require users to input prompts to gain insights from meeting transcripts—such as Circleback—Fireflies aims to streamline the process. Ramineni emphasised the time-consuming nature of extracting insights post-meeting, stating, “We want to close that gap with these apps. With these apps, Fireflies can kick these actions off right after the meeting and make people more productive.”
The newly introduced mini apps can also interact seamlessly with various platforms, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Asana, Jira, BambooHR, Greenhouse, Slack, and Microsoft Teams, allowing users to share outcomes effortlessly. For instance, a meeting host can send a summary directly to a manager on Slack.
Users have the flexibility to utilise these mini apps for specific meetings or develop personalised apps for tailored outputs, with future plans to enable sharing of these custom apps within user groups.
In addition to the mini apps, Fireflies is exploring enhancements to meeting intelligence by rolling out meeting briefs that provide valuable information about participants and their organisations. Furthermore, the company is testing the implementation of “digital twins” for users in meetings—similar to concepts recently trialed by Zoom—which would allow for basic queries to be addressed automatically.
This strategic development by Fireflies.ai reflects its commitment to revolutionising how insights are derived from meetings, ultimately aiming to boost productivity and efficiency in various business settings.
