On Friday, Andreessen Horowitz, a leading venture firm, shared a link to their comprehensive guide on enhancing one’s social media influence. This guide includes insights on finding your audience and determining the frequency of your posts.
Interestingly, the timing of this shared guide coincided with a buzz on social media triggered by the firm’s co-founder Ben Horowitz making a post on X. Horowitz expressed his frustration regarding a piece published by The San Francisco Standard about his family’s political contributions. He accused VC Michael Moritz, owner of The Standard, of being behind the publication of the story; although Jon Steinberg, the executive editor of The Standard, clarified he commissioned the story and Moritz was not involved.
Marc Andreessen, co-founder of A16z, has had his own series of public skirmishes and dealings with social media. As a member of Meta’s board, he left Twitter in 2016 due to its increasingly toxic environment, only to return and quickly amass a significant following. His notable engagement earlier this year involved a debate over AI with VC Vinod Khosla on the X platform (previously known as Twitter), where Andreessen Horowitz is one of the investors.
