Reports from Bloomberg suggest that Apple may unveil a new iPhone SE and PowerBeats Pro headphones as soon as February 11. However, the announcement is expected to be somewhat modest, as no invitations for an in-person or virtual event have been sent out yet.
The upcoming iPhone SE will represent the fourth iteration of Apple’s budget-friendly smartphone, being the first release since the third-generation model debuted in 2022. This earlier model, part of the iPhone 13 lineup, was priced at $429 and featured design elements similar to the iPhone 8, such as a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. It has already been phased out in the EU due to its Lightning port not complying with the Common Charger Directive laws.
In line with Apple’s other devices, the new iPhone SE is likely to feature a USB-C port. Speculation indicates that its design will be reminiscent of the iPhone 14 series, released months after the last SE. This update may signal the end of the Touch ID home button for iPhones, as Apple transitions to Face ID technology.
Significantly, the fourth-generation iPhone SE is thought to be compatible with Apple Intelligence, aligning it with all iPhone 16 models and the iPhone 15 Pro. It may also debut Apple’s own in-house modem, reducing reliance on external chip manufacturers like Qualcomm.
The new SE is expected to gain substantial traction in international markets, particularly in China and India, which are currently the largest smartphone markets globally. While China has historically been an important market for Apple, the company has faced challenges there recently, reporting an 11% decline in year-over-year iPhone sales during its latest earnings call.
This downturn can largely be attributed to the rise of domestic competitors, like Huawei, which has bounced back from earlier trade restrictions. Additionally, Apple Intelligence, the company’s venture into generative AI, is not yet accessible in China.

In addition to the iPhone SE, Apple is also expected to unveil the PowerBeats Pro 2 alongside it. Nearly six years after the original model, the new Beats headphones are anticipated to incorporate heart rate monitoring, marking Apple’s effort to expand its health-focused wearables beyond the Apple Watch.
Later in the year, Apple is rumored to refresh the MacBook Air and iPad Air with M4 chips, in addition to introducing a long-speculated smart home device, which may feature a display, potentially paving the way for Apple’s entry into consumer robotics. However, none of these products are scheduled for the February 11 announcement.
