X Launches Vertical Video Feed for Users Worldwide

by admin

According to exclusive insights from TechCrunch, Elon Musk’s platform X has begun its global expansion of the dedicated vertical video feed, just days after its introduction in the United States.

On Friday, TechCrunch noted that the new feature was available in several regions beyond the U.S., such as India, Australia, and several European countries. An X representative confirmed that the global launch of the vertical video feed is actively “underway.” Users can find this feature via a dedicated tab within the X app, conveniently located next to the Grok button.

The representative further indicated that the rollout is currently exclusive to iOS, meaning Android users will have to wait a little longer for access. (No specific timeline for the Android launch was provided by the company.)

Earlier this week, X unveiled its vertical video feed in the U.S., amidst ongoing uncertainty regarding TikTok’s status in the market due to a potential ban. The enforcement of this ban is currently suspended as President Trump extended the deadline for TikTok to negotiate a deal that would transfer some control to a U.S. entity, possibly even divesting its American operations, to address national security concerns.

Beyond offering entertainment, the new video feature also enables X to run advertisements after users scroll through a selection of short videos. This strategy aids the company in generating additional revenue while keeping users engaged with the video content—a tactic widely utilized by various social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.

The video experience has become a prominent focus for X. Last year, the platform launched a dedicated TV app to showcase videos from creators and organizations. Additionally, in 2022, X allowed users to scroll through short clips by tapping on a video in their timeline and swiping upward.
