Former Twitter CISO Lea Kissner Takes on Role as LinkedIn’s Head of Security

Lea Kissner steps into the role of Chief Information Security Officer at LinkedIn, sharing their enthusiasm for this new challenge in a LinkedIn announcement.

Previously holding the position of CISO at the cloud security firm Lacework, Kissner brings experience from a rich career background. Before Lacework, they contributed their expertise as Twitter’s CISO, exiting the role in November 2022 shortly after the platform’s acquisition by Elon Musk for $44 billion, now renamed X. Their resume also boasts significant roles in cybersecurity and privacy at tech heavyweights Google and Apple.

Kissner steps in to fill the shoes of Geoff Belknap, departing LinkedIn’s CISO post in June. Belknap himself praised Kissner’s appointment in his LinkedIn update, expressing confidence that LinkedIn’s security strategies are in capable hands.
