On Wednesday, Ring unveiled its latest iteration of the Battery-Powered Doorbell. At a price point of $100, the new model boasts improvements such as longer battery duration, color night vision capabilities, complete head-to-toe visibility of guests, and an innovative push-pin mounting mechanism.
Previously exclusive to the Doorbell Plus and Pro variants, the comprehensive head-to-toe HD video feature is now accessible through the Battery Doorbell. Ring has stated that this new edition offers a 66% increased vertical viewing range when compared to its second-generation Video Doorbell, enhancing the user’s ability to monitor visitors. The inclusion of a 150-degree horizontal by 150-degree vertical field of view also improves package delivery surveillance, ensuring users can easily see everything that arrives at their doorstep.
The full vertical video perspective is now a sought-after specification among sophisticated video doorbell users. Ring, a pioneer in the smart doorbell market, has adapted to remain competitive amidst new brands entering the field. Introducing the head-to-toe video feature into its cost-efficient battery doorbell model allows Ring to stand toe-to-toe with rivals such as Arlo, Google Nest, and Wyze, which all feature similar capabilities.

The enhanced model also features a 23% increase in battery life compared to its predecessor. Ring has refined the mounting system for easier battery charges, now enabling detachment directly from the door with a convenient push-pin tool.
Moreover, the new color night vision technology ensures clear visibility in both daylight and darkness.
Each device within Ring’s suite of doorbells is engineered to send motion notifications, allow real-time video viewing, support two-way communication, and enable motion zone customization. When linked with the Ring Protect plan, available for $5 monthly or $50 annually, customers gain access to individual and package detection alerts and can review up to 180 days of video archives.
The Ring Battery Doorbell is now open for preorders on both Ring’s official site and Amazon.com, with shipments beginning on September 4.
