While exciting advancements are on Apple’s horizon, the company faces challenges, including ongoing memory chip shortages, fluctuating tariffs, and a heavy reliance on Chinese manufacturing, with around 80% of iPhones historically produced there. In response to these issues, Apple is increasingly shifting some production to India, where approximately 25% of iPhones were assembled last year.
As Ternus takes the reins, the outcomes of these developments remain to be seen, but his hardware-centric background could usher in a new era for Apple, primarily centered around integrating AI into practical devices.
