Honor Unveils New Sleek Foldable Magic V6 Featuring a Robust 6,600 mAh Battery

by admin

Honor has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Honor Magic V6, featuring a robust 6,600 mAh battery and a newly designed hinge, just ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. This Chinese tech company has been focused on showcasing its thin foldables, with the Magic V6 boasting a thickness of 4 mm when opened and 8.75 mm when closed, a slight improvement over last year’s Magic V5.

One of the standout features of the Magic V6 is its impressive battery. The 6,600 mAh capacity marks an upgrade from last year’s 5,820 mAh, enabling the device to support quick charging at 80 W wired and 66 W wirelessly via Honor’s SuperCharge technology. Furthermore, Honor revealed a new Silicon-carbon battery technology with a density of 32%, potentially allowing future foldables to exceed 7,000 mAh.

Display-wise, the Magic V6 has a sizable 7.95-inch main AMOLED screen, offering a resolution of 2352 x 2172 pixels, alongside a 6.52-inch cover display with a resolution of 2420 x 1080 pixels. Both screens utilise LTPO 2.0 technology, which adjusts refresh rates between 1 Hz and 120 Hz, optimising readability and conserving battery life.

Honor has also enhanced the device’s durability with a Super Steel Hinge, featuring a tensile strength of 2,800 MPa, while reducing crease depth by 44% for an improved visual experience. Additionally, the external screen benefits from an anti-reflective coating, bringing its reflectivity down to 1.5%.

Under the hood, the Magic V6 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, coupled with 16GB of RAM and a substantial 512GB of internal storage. The camera setup includes three rear lenses: a 50-megapixel main camera, a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. For selfies, it has dual 20-megapixel front-facing cameras.

Honor’s ambitions also extend to cross-platform compatibility, allowing the Magic V6 to sync notifications with iPhones and display alerts on Apple Watches. Users can share files between the foldable and Mac devices with a simple tap, and the phone can function as an extended display.

Although the exact pricing details for the Magic V6 are not yet available, Honor indicates that it will launch in selected international markets in the latter half of the year. Overall, the Honor Magic V6 combines cutting-edge technology with innovative features aimed at enhancing user experience in the foldable smartphone segment.
