Google has officially introduced a new subscription service called Google AI Ultra, aimed at consolidating its various AI offerings. Announced during the Google I/O 2025 event on Tuesday, AI Ultra is priced at $249.99 per month and promises the highest level of access to the tech giant’s suite of AI-driven tools. Key features included in this plan are the Veo 3 video generation tool, the Flow video editing app, and an advanced AI mode named Gemini 2.5 Pro Deep Think, which is yet to be released.
Josh Woodward, Vice President of Google Labs and Gemini, described AI Ultra as tailored for users seeking the latest advancements in AI technology from Google. Currently, this subscription is available only in the United States, joining a niche market of premium AI subscriptions. Previously, OpenAI and Anthropic entered this space with their respective offerings, priced at $200 per month for elevated access and exclusive features.
To distinguish AI Ultra from competitors, Google has bundled several additional services. Subscribers will benefit from enhanced features in Google’s NotebookLM and Whisk image remixing platform. Access to the Gemini chatbot via Chrome, special tools powered by Project Mariner, YouTube Premium, and a generous 30TB of storage shared across Google services such as Drive, Photos, and Gmail also come with the subscription. One of the notable new tools is Agent Mode, which will allow users to browse the web, conduct research, and perform task-specific operations within Google applications—available on desktop soon.
In conjunction with the launch of AI Ultra, Google is phasing out its existing Google One AI Premium subscription, replacing it with Google AI Pro. This revised plan will include tools like Flow, NotebookLM, and the Gemini app, previously known as Gemini Advanced, featuring enhanced capabilities and improved rate limits.
Moreover, subscribers to the AI Pro plan will enjoy the Flow video editing application and early access to the Gemini chatbot in Chrome. Another significant feature is real-time speech translation available for Google Meet, currently supporting English and Spanish with plans to expand this offering in the future. This capability allows spoken language to be translated to match the listener’s preferred language while maintaining the original tone and delivery.
Through AI Ultra and its new offerings, Google is positioning itself at the forefront of the AI subscription landscape, catering to users keen to harness advanced technology for creative and productivity purposes.
