Google Unveils Standalone NotebookLM App for Android Users

by admin

Google has officially launched the NotebookLM app for Android, coinciding with the Google I/O 2025 event. Previously available only on desktop since its debut in 2023, this AI-powered note-taking assistant now allows users to access its features while on the move. An iOS version is anticipated to be rolled out shortly.

NotebookLM empowers users to grasp complex information more effectively, featuring smart summary capabilities and the option to inquire about various documents. The mobile version introduces “Audio Overviews,” which are AI-generated podcasts summarising source materials. Notably, the app supports background playback and offline access for these audio summaries.

With the new Android app, users can create and manage multiple notebooks, upload new sources from their devices, and access previously uploaded materials. The interface offers both light and dark modes that sync with the device’s system settings, enhancing user experience.

Given the timing of this rollout just before the Google I/O keynote, further details about NotebookLM are expected to be unveiled during the event, showcasing the latest advancements and features in this innovative note-taking tool.
