Spotify’s AI DJ Now Allows Voice Commands for Tailored Music Experiences

by admin

Spotify is enhancing its AI DJ feature to foster a more interactive listening experience for users. The latest update permits Premium subscribers to utilise voice commands to request music or adjust the mood of their playlists. This functionality, which is currently available in English and rolling out across more than 60 markets, marks a significant shift from the previous setup where users could merely listen to the AI DJ’s curated tracks interspersed with brief commentary.

With the new interactive feature, listeners can verbally instruct the AI DJ to switch genres, set a desired mood, or select tracks from specific artists, making the musical experience more personalised. To engage the AI DJ, users simply need to type “DJ” into the search bar and hold down the DJ button for voice requests. For swift mood adjustments, a quick press of the DJ button suffices.

Originally unveiled in February 2023 for audiences in the U.S. and Canada, the AI DJ capability was later globally introduced in August, with Spanish-speaking support added in the following months. Additionally, Spotify has been working on other AI-driven features, such as enabling users to generate playlists from text prompts, further expanding the possibilities for customised listening experiences.

This upgrade signifies Spotify’s commitment to leveraging AI technology to enhance user interactivity and satisfaction within its platform, ensuring that listeners have a dynamic and responsive way to enjoy their music.
