X is making strides to increase the accessibility of xAI’s Grok model for a larger audience on its platform. Many users reported today that individuals can now tag Grok in their replies to pose questions, allowing for explanations of specific posts.
Users of the social media platform owned by Elon Musk have previously been able to access Grok via a button located in the sidebar. They also have the option to click the Grok button adjacent to every post, which utilizes the AI chatbot to clarify the content of the text and images through its image understanding capabilities that were integrated last year.
In recent weeks, the AI-focused search engine Perplexity has been operating an automated account on X that functions similarly. Users can inquire about any posts on the platform and receive an automated response within minutes.
Businesses involved in AI development are keen on enhancing user interactions with their chatbots and solutions. Meta, known for its Llama models, has integrated Meta AI into the search functionalities of Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Messenger. Additionally, it has launched a dedicated website, allowing users to conversate with the chatbot across these platforms. Reports suggest that the company is in the process of creating a standalone Meta AI application.
In contrast, Musk’s xAI has primarily offered the Grok chatbot exclusively through X. Nevertheless, the company has introduced various new methods for users to engage with its AI assistant since the year’s outset. There is now a standalone Grok application available on both iOS and Android, along with a specialized website. Recently, xAI also unveiled its SuperGrok plan, which features amenities such as unlimited image generation and early access to new functionalities.
