Amazon Unveils Alexa+ with AI-Driven ‘Explore’ and ‘Stories’ Features Tailored for Children

by admin

During the unveiling of Amazon’s latest AI-driven assistant, Alexa+, the tech powerhouse introduced two exciting new features aimed at children, named “Explore with Alexa” and “Stories with Alexa.” These functionalities, which take advantage of Alexa’s advanced AI capabilities, will be accessible to Amazon Kids+ subscribers.

At a press conference held in New York, the company showcased these innovative features, emphasizing their role in helping children delve into intriguing subjects and foster creative thinking.

The Explore feature allows children to pose questions such as, “Do plants communicate with one another?” to which Alexa responds, “Plants do exchange information, but they don’t do so verbally.” Alternatively, they may inquire, “A rose is red and grows in buds. Is that correct?”

Through Stories with Alexa, children can prompt the voice assistant to craft a narrative based on their request. For example, a child might ask Alexa+ to “tell a story about a bearded dragon who plays the saxophone.”

“Alexa is not limited to merely answering queries or narrating tales; she is igniting their creativity,” stated Mara Segal, Amazon’s director of Alexa, during the presentation. “She engages with them uniquely, utilizing natural dialogue and vibrant visuals.”

The Amazon Kids+ subscription is priced at $5.99 per month for Prime members and $7.99 per month for those without a Prime account. This service provides children aged 3-12 with access to books, videos, games, and applications.
